One million shrimp fry have been released into Qarun Lake in Fayoum, Egypt, as per the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aiming to improve the lake's ecological balance and support local fishermen. The decision follows efforts to enhance the lakes' protection and development, with the first batch of shrimp fry released since 2018, marking a significant step towards restoring the lake's aquatic life and economic significance. The release is part of a comprehensive plan that includes scientific research, stakeholder collaboration, and ongoing monitoring to ensure the success of the initiative and the safety of the fry, with plans to release five million fry units in total.
