The Department of Agriculture of the Government of Catalonia reported yesterday afternoon that all 39 pig farms located within the surveillance zone established around the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) tested negative. The situation continues to be one of health alert. Various carcasses have been collected within the surveillance zone that are being analyzed by CReSA (Animal Health Research Center) and, if necessary, will be validated by the reference laboratory of the Ministry. To reinforce the device and ensure the containment of the focus, the Government of Catalonia has requested the support of the Hunting Control Unit of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), which joins the teams already deployed in the area.
