On June 26, in Nepalgunj, Nepal Police seized a significant stock of smuggled goods, including 520 sacks of sugar worth over Rs 1.8 million and 51 sacks of pulses worth Rs 107,000, from the Nandani Mill. The discovery was made following information about smuggled commodities being stored at the mill without proper documentation. The recovered items have been forwarded to the Nepalgunj Custom Office for further investigation. The mill's operator has claimed that the goods were not his, but no owner has been identified yet. This incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the Nepal Police in preventing smuggling activities.
