Pumpkin prices in Ukraine increased by 40% over the year

At the Shuvar wholesale market in Lviv, the average price of a pumpkin reached UAH 35/kg, which is 40% more compared to the same period last year, when the price was UAH 25/kg. This was reported by Tetyana Popovych, head of the market's marketing department, reports Agravery. "Several types of pumpkins are sold on the market, among which the most popular for cooking is muscat pumpkin, as well as hard and soft varieties. On the eve of Halloween, the demand for decorative pumpkins used for decorations increases. Pumpkins are also actively sold for processing, in particular for the production of oil and seeds," she noted. It is noted that the growth of pumpkin cultivation this year is due to the increased demand for healthy food and stable weather conditions in the key regions of production - in Transcarpathia, in the western and southern regions of Ukraine.
