Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended the embargo on agricultural products from Western countries for another two years, ending December 31, 2026. The embargo, which was initially implemented in 2014 in response to the West's 'unfriendly actions', originally included products from the USA, EU, Australia, Norway and Canada, but the list has since expanded to include other European countries and Ukraine.
