The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Egypt has introduced 50,000 tons of frozen Brazilian chicken into the market, priced from 65 pounds per kilo, following a significant rise in local chicken prices. This move was initiated after consumers started purchasing Brazilian chicken, leading to a decrease in local chicken prices. The Brazilian chicken will be available in consumer complexes across the country. Dr. Tharwat Al-Zeini, Vice President of the Poultry Producers Union, views this as a necessary measure to stabilize the market and believes that local chicken production will increase in the coming weeks, further reducing prices.
