【Pyeongchang】Pyeongchang County has officially embarked on establishing a practical operational model for the Green Bio Venture Campus. The county held a "Kick-off Report Meeting for the Feasibility Study on the Operational Implementation Plan (Detailed Strategy) for the Green Bio Venture Campus" over two days, September 9th and 10th, at the Seoul National University Pyeongchang Campus. This feasibility study aims to concretize the operational system and support processes that actual companies can feel, based on the vision and operational direction of the venture campus outlined in the previously established basic strategy. In particular, the plan is to focus on concretizing a one-stop support system that connects from company consultation to support project linkage and follow-up management, a growth ladder tailored to different types of companies, a performance management system suited to the local conditions, and a practical operational model for equipment, space, and personnel. Pyeongchang aims to be organically connected with other regions such as Gangneung, Chuncheon, and Hongcheon as a research, startup, and technology commercialization hub within the Gangwon Green Bio Industry V Valley, and to prepare regional growth scenarios. The county also plans to review a symbiotic industrial hub model where local farms, institutions, universities, and companies grow together. This kick-off report meeting was also held in conjunction with a seminar by Yang Jin-tae, Director of the Seoul National University GBST, titled "Development Plans for Pyeongchang's Green Bio Industry through Medicinal Crops such as Ginseng, Angelica, and White Mulberry Root." The seminar discussed the potential for industrialization and the direction for nurturing regional specialized industries using Pyeongchang's medicinal crop resources and research foundation. Jeon Hae-sun, Head of the County's Economic Division, stated, "While the basic strategy outlined the direction and role of the venture campus, this detailed strategy is the process of concretizing it into a practical operational model. We will establish effective detailed strategies to help Pyeongchang establish itself as the core hub of Gangwon's Green Bio industry, leading research, startups, and technology commercialization."
