Pyeongtaek City Holds Demonstration of 'Powdered Rice' Transplanting, Opening New Horizons for Double Rice Cropping

The Pyeongtaek City government held a rice planting demonstration on June 30 at the Garussal production site in Oseong-myeon. The demonstration was hosted by Agricultural Corporation Jippuragi (CEO Park Soon-chul) and attended by Kang Jung-gu, Chair of the Pyeongtaek City Council, Gyeonggi Provincial Council members Yoon Seong-geun and Seo Hyun-ok, Kim Kyung-dong, Director of the Pyeongtaek Agricultural Products Quality Management Office, Lee Won-jae, Head of the Food Crop Technology Team at the Agricultural Technology Center, and local farmers from the Garussal production site. Garussal (Baromi 2) is a new variety developed by the Rural Development Administration that has been receiving positive responses for its potential to replace imported wheat flour, improve food self-sufficiency, and stabilize rice supply.
