Raid: important producers admitted failure

In Bulgaria, since 2007, there has not been a weak yield of corn, and in Romania, too, large areas had to be harvested early from the sea. The European crop estimation system calls the Hungarian yield disappointing. Our results are not good for the other crops that are now being harvested. The domestic corn harvest is still ongoing, with the European MARS system estimating the yield average at 5.2 t/ha. This is almost a fifth less than usual and 12 percent below last year. Two countries produced an even greater decline in Europe: Romania (-24% vs. 5-year average) and Bulgaria (-41%). Romanian colleagues harvest an average of 3 tons, while Bulgarians harvest 2.8 tons of corn this year. Apart from a small decline in the Czech Republic and Croatia, all other member states have achieved the usual average, which amounts to 7.4 tons for the Poles and 8.7 tons for the French.
