A series of meteorological conditions is expected to bring relief to the hydric situation of corn and soy crops in the southwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Starting from Friday, the region is set to receive up to 30 mm of rainfall, with accumulations potentially reaching 70 mm by Monday. However, the extreme south of the country may be the only area to benefit from these rains, as a High Level Cyclonic Vortex (VCAN) in the north is causing a lack of humidity in other regions. This situation could increase water restriction in crops, particularly in the north of Minas Gerais and Bahia. Projections suggest that these rains are likely to continue throughout the beginning of the second half of March.
