Livelihood from the Lowland On November 28, the An Giang Agricultural Promotion Center, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Vinh Hoa Huong Commune (An Giang Province), organized a festival to tour and harvest the model of raising fish in floating cages on rice fields during the flood season. For many years, the residents of Hamlet 6A, Vinh Hoa Huong Commune (An Giang) have not produced a winter rice crop but instead welcomed the floodwaters to overflow the fields to set up floating cages (net enclosures) to raise various fish species such as silver barb, red tilapia, snakehead, and catfish, creating a new low-cost livelihood model. Vinh Hoa Huong Commune has an area of nearly 9,600 hectares, of which agricultural land accounts for over 99%.
