World rapeseed production: A crop where Argentina has a lot to grow

A report prepared by the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR) on the current situation of rapeseed cultivation, projections and world outlook, highlights that today it is the second oilseed harvested in the world, behind soybeans. From the winter-spring cycle, with various uses and high potential in our country, internationally it is mostly processed for human consumption of oils and use in biodiesel, as well as flour and pellets for animal feed. In our country, rapeseed production is heavily concentrated on Buenos Aires land, highlighting the districts of San Antonio de Areco, Baradero, 25 de Mayo and Pergamino. Likewise, the second province in production is Entre Ríos, focused on the departments of Victoria, Gualeguay and Tala. Both provinces account for 94% of the Argentine rapeseed production.
