Rapeseed exports from Ukraine in 2024/25 marketing year decreased to a three-year low

Published Jul 10, 2025

Tridge summary

According to APK-Inform.

Among the main reasons for the reduction, it is worth highlighting the decrease in oilseed crop yields in the country for several years now.

Almost 89% of total rapeseed exports went to the European Union (91% in the previous marketing year), or 2.78 million tons, which is 17% lower than the 2024/25 marketing year. In terms of countries, the TOP-3 importers of Ukrainian rapeseed included Germany with over 1 million tons (-18%), Belgium – 899,000 tons (a 2.4-fold increase), and the United Kingdom – 334,000 tons (a 2.5-fold increase).

In the new 2025/26 season, the trend of rapeseed export reduction will likely continue, due to the expected minimal harvest of this crop in the last 4 years, as well as the possible introduction of export duty for oilseeds, which is currently being actively lobbied.

Our estimate of rapeseed exports from Ukraine in the 2025/26 marketing year currently stands at 2.7 million tons (-15%).
