German rapeseed oil exports rose again in 2020/21, after they rose in 2017/18 and 2018/19 had decreased significantly. With a total export of 1.3 million t, the peak level of the 2016/17 marketing year was exceeded when over 1.2 million t of rapeseed oil were exported. Compared to the previous marketing year, this corresponds to an increase of 36%. By far the largest recipient for rapeseed oil in 2020/21 was the Netherlands, the central hub for world trade in raw materials. This was followed by Belgium, Denmark, France and Norway as the most important target countries for German rapeseed oil. Belgium bought around 102,600 t from Germany (+ 8%), Denmark 57,300 t (- 6%).
