"Reduces motivation": the profitability of wheat cultivation in the Rostov region has fallen by 10 times. The export discount has almost disappeared.

In the Rostov region, the profitability of growing wheat has fallen tenfold over four years. And a number of farms are already growing this crop at cost or even at a loss. This was reported by Yuri Kornyush, an advisor to the president of the Rostov Regional Chamber of Commerce, to 161.RU. "Unfortunately, in this season, grains remain low-income crops. This is primarily due to the significant increase in production costs. Everything is getting more expensive — seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, fuel, land rental, logistics, and employee salary costs are rising," says the expert. According to his estimate, the cost of growing wheat has increased by 10–20% over the season, with total sowing costs up by approximately 15%.
