A million fish fry units have been released into Lake Mariout, as part of the state's effort to develop fish resources, protect the marine environment, and improve water quality. The release is the first batch of 'tilapia' and 'mabrouk al-hashaesh' and is part of a comprehensive strategy to develop Egyptian lakes for environmental and economic sustainability. The release is expected to increase fish production, provide a sustainable source of livelihood for fishermen, and improve their living conditions.
