At the Hanover Agritechnica agricultural exhibition, a novelty will be a less common, yet highly practical piece of machinery in Hungary. Circular bales, smaller in size (70–90 cm in diameter), are becoming increasingly popular among livestock farmers. Particularly in the west, where there is a stable market for the baling machines, also known as bale presses or mini balers, that produce them. The advantages are obvious, especially for those who have smaller farms and livestock. The small circular bales, which can be wrapped in netting or foil, are easy to move even for women, and moreover, they do not require a high-powered tractor to produce. The Dutch manufacturer Knoll will present its latest development, the MidiFix II, at the Hanover Agritechnica trade fair in mid-November.
