Two consortia, involving social organizations and companies from various sectors, have been awarded over 2.6 million euros for interdisciplinary research projects on seaweed and shellfish cultivation. The projects, starting in mid-2022, will study improving seaweed cultivation efficiency and developing sustainable business models, with additional co-funding of 450 thousand euros. The research aims to address the challenges of large-scale seaweed cultivation and its impact on the marine ecology, with the hope of attracting investments and achieving profitability.
