Gangwon Province announced that Kim Yong-seok, a marine fisheries researcher (test team leader) from the Provincial Inland Water Resources Center, was the sole public servant to receive the Special Award for Meritorious Public Service in the field of aquaculture technology at the 31st World Agricultural and Fisheries Technology Awards, held recently at the Korea Press Center International Conference Hall. The World Agricultural and Fisheries Technology Awards, hosted by the Segye Ilbo and sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Rural Development Administration, is a prestigious award that recognizes advanced technology and innovative achievements leading the future of the agricultural and fisheries industry. Researcher Kim has been in public service since 2011 as a local marine fisheries researcher, working at the Gangwon Province Inland Water Resources Center, (former) Fisheries Agency.
