Japan has successfully resumed exports of poultry products from Chiba Prefecture to Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, Vietnam, and Macau following the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The green light was given by these countries after discussions on regionalism, allowing exports from prefectures not affected by the outbreak. The export quarantine certificates for poultry products produced or processed after a specific date are now issued, with retroactive approval in Hong Kong. The total export value of chicken and chicken eggs in 2023 was 7.6 billion yen, primarily to Hong Kong.
