Brazil's coffee exports hit a record high, reaching US$ 5.904 billion from January to August 2022, marking a 61.4% increase compared to the same period in 2021, according to the Council of Coffee Exporters of Brazil (Cecafé). Despite a slight decrease in volume, exporting 2.762 million bags, or 2.5% less compared to August 2021, the revenue growth of 49.5% is attributed to good market price levels, a favorable exchange rate, and the efforts of exporters. The United States, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Japan were the leading importers of Brazilian coffee, with the Santos maritime complex being the primary exporter. Arabica coffee was the most exported type, accounting for 85.9% of total shipments, and differentiated coffees, which were 18% of total exports, saw a revenue of US$ 1.292 billion.
