Rice is the world's fourth most produced crop with China and India being the leading producers, while Brazil faces challenges due to heavy floods. Argentina, known for its rice cultivation mainly in Corrientes province, has developed a new variety, Angiru INTA CL, which promises high yield and quality, potentially boosting its export capabilities. This comes as a significant opportunity for Argentina to increase its rice exports to Brazil, which is experiencing a decrease in production. The Angiru INTA CL variety, set to be available in the 2024-2025 campaign, is expected to enhance the competitiveness of local producers and meet both domestic and international standards.
