Vietnam's rice exports have seen a significant increase in the first seven months of 2020, with a total of 3.9 million tons exported valued at $1.9 billion, a 1.4% decrease in volume but an 11% increase in value compared to the same period in 2019. The Philippines was the largest market, accounting for 36.9% of the market share with 1.4 million tons exported. Other markets showing a notable increase in rice export value include Senegal, Indonesia, and China. The average export price per ton of rice was $487.6, a 13% increase from the same period in 2019. The types of rice exports included white rice, jasmine rice and fragrant rice, sticky rice, and japonica rice and Japanese seed rice, with the Philippines, China, and Malaysia being the largest markets for these types respectively.
