North Korea's food crop production for 2023 is estimated at 4.82 million tons, which is an increase of 310,000 tons compared to the previous year. The increase is attributed to favorable weather conditions, higher-than-normal rainfall during the rice transplanting season, and good growth conditions for other crops such as corn, potatoes, wheat, barley, and soybeans. The head of the International Technology Cooperation Division of the Rural Development Administration, Lee Gyeong-tae, stated that overall, the weather conditions in North Korea this year were conducive to increased food crop production.
