Russian experts do not foresee overstocking of the market with basic grains due to duties from the European Union, as the EU's share of total supplies is insignificant and Russian exporters have other larger markets. The main exported items for the 2023-24 agricultural year will be soft and durum wheat, rye, corn, and barley, with the majority supplied to Southern European countries. However, these grains could also be supplied to North African countries instead of Europe. China and Türkiye are potential buyers of Russian oilseed meal, an item that currently makes up the majority of supplies to the EU from Russia. A 10% duty on flax will be implemented this year, gradually increasing to 50% by 2026, with Belgium and Poland being the main buyers, while large volumes are also imported by China.
