In September, Russia achieved a record monthly peak in pea exports, reaching 199.1 thousand tons, as reported by ProZerno. The first three months of the new season saw a total export of 420.7 thousand tons, which makes up 48% of the previous season's total exports. The main destinations for these exports were Turkey, Belgium, Latvia, Spain, and Pakistan. This increase in exports is attributed to the lack of export duties on peas, Canada's poor harvest leading other countries to seek alternatives, and Pakistan's drought impacting traditional suppliers. As a result, pea prices have surged, with a ton currently costing $343. Russia's legume exports have seen an uptick this season, and the sowing area for peas has expanded by 131.3 thousand hectares, covering over 1.44 million hectares.
