Russia's self-sufficiency in meat products has surpassed 100% this year, according to President Vladimir Putin. The country's self-sufficiency in milk and dairy products is at 84.3%. Russia's projected meat product exports this year are 550,000 tons, valued at $1.5 billion. The country is working to gain access for its pork producers to the Chinese market. The self-sufficiency rates for various types of cattle in Russia are also noted to be 64% for dairy cattle, 98% for beef cattle, 84.6% for pork, 98.5% for sheep.
