Russia has become the main supplier of meat to Vietnam

In 2020, Russia saw a 49% growth in agricultural exports, with a further 26% increase in the first half of 2021. The country has found success in exporting meat to Vietnam, becoming the top supplier in the first half of 2021 with 61.8 thousand tons of meat, primarily pork. China remains the largest buyer of Russian meat, but Vietnam is a promising market, especially due to the free trade zone and potential for growth in beef, lamb, and turkey supplies. Despite challenges such as halal market requirements and veterinary certificate agreements in Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Indonesia, Russia's agricultural attachés have been sent to these regions by the Ministry of Agriculture, indicating a strategic interest in expanding their agricultural presence in Southeast Asia. Additionally, Russia's agricultural exports to China have been on a steady rise, with a significant increase in poultry exports, and there is potential for further growth in exports of meat and other agricultural products to China.
