Russia has reached the 11th place in the world in wine production, annually increasing the volume of production and the area of vineyards. This was stated by Elena Sarattseva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo.
"Annually, about 5,000 hectares of vineyards in Russia are increasing, and the volume of wine produced is also increasing. Russia is in a countertrend to the main wine producers in the world—Italy, France, where wine production is decreasing. Two years ago, we were in 12th place, and we are growing in this sense," said Sarattseva on the sidelines of a meeting on the results of an external audit of winemaking production in Crimea and Sevastopol.
According to the expert, the growth in the production of grape wine in the Russian Federation by the end of 2025 is forecast to be at least 10% compared to the 2024 figure.
