Russia has seen a 3% increase in meat exports in the first eight months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, totaling over 351 thousand tons. This includes a 2.6-fold increase in beef exports, led by China, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan, and a 27% rise in pork exports, primarily to Vietnam, Ukraine, and Belarus. Horse meat exports to Kazakhstan surged 33 times, and finished meat product exports to Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan increased by 42%. This surge in exports has led to a decrease in meat imports to Russia, with reductions in beef, horse meat, lamb, and goat meat imports.
