Among these, the price of Pacific herring in the Karaginsky District for 2025 increased from 50,100 tons to 95,800 tons, almost doubling; Pacific herring in the northern Sea of Okhotsk increased from 310,000 tons to 330,000 tons. The quota for narrow-barred Spanish mackerel in the West Sakhalin region increased from 40,000 tons to 50,000 tons.
The quota for opilio snow crab in the northern Sea of Okhotsk increased from 17,291 tons to 19,955 tons; the quota for blue king crab in the West Kamchatka region increased from 3,184 tons to 4,139 tons.
The Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo) stated that the total catch of the Russian fishing industry in the first eight months of 2025 was close to 3.5 million tons, a decrease of 1.9% year-on-year. Among these, the catch of narrow-barred Spanish mackerel was 1.64 million tons, an increase of 2%; the catch of Pacific cod was 88,500 tons, an increase of 0.3%; the catch of Pacific herring was 375,000 tons, an increase of 18.2%; the catch of crabs in the Far East was 44,000 tons, an increase of 9.2%.
