The Chairman of the Council of the National Seed Alliance in Russia, Igor Lobach, has announced plans to export 10 thousand tons of sunflower seeds and 30 thousand tons of corn seeds to balance the domestic market. The potential export of grain seeds by the 2025 sowing season is estimated at 25 million tons, with other seeds like rice and soybean also up for export. African countries like Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, and Tanzania are identified as potential markets, and breeding programs need to be adapted to meet the climatic conditions of these countries for seed exports to succeed.
