The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has proposed an extension of the existing ban on unhusked rice exports from Russia until the end of 2025, with a few exceptions. Additionally, a tariff quota of 50,000 tons has been set for husked rice and rice groats exports, with no export duty in the intra-quota rate and 50% in the extra-quota rate. The ministry is also looking into the possibility of exporting processed rice in 2026 and beyond, contingent on a rice harvest of over 1.1 million tons. Furthermore, the extension of the tariff exemption for the import of 25,000 tons of butter for food production purposes until the end of 2025 has been supported by the Subcommittee on Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation.
