Russia is set to begin exporting semolina and rye flour to China, after protocols for these products have been agreed upon with Chinese authorities. However, the focus is currently on allowing winter wheat and barley to enter the Chinese market, in addition to the currently permitted spring wheat and barley. There has been a sixfold increase in Russian wheat shipments to China in recent years, reaching over 300 thousand tons of spring wheat. Other Russian plant products already allowed in the Chinese market include rapeseed, corn, soybeans, buckwheat, oatmeal, flax, sunflower, peas, alfalfa, millet, and medicinal raw materials.
