Russia plans to increase the volume of shrimp imports from India, with the import volume expected to grow further by 2026. In terms of value, India ranks first among Russia's shrimp suppliers, accounting for 33% of the market with a value of $113 million; in terms of quantity, India ranks second (after Ecuador), accounting for 27% of the total, with a quantity of 16,000 tons. In the first three quarters of 2025, the quantity of shrimp imported by Russia from India increased by 5% year-on-year, and the value increased by 20% year-on-year. Russia also imports a small amount of squid, octopus, and cuttlefish from India. To further expand imports, the Russian government plans to expand the list of Indian fisheries that are authorized to supply products to the Russian market.
