Russia releases catch output for the first eight months, with significant decline in cod and notable increase in crab.

Of this, approximately 2.69 million tons were produced in the Far East region, with production basically unchanged from the same period last year; 244,000 tons were produced in the northern waters (mainly the Barents Sea), 54,300 tons were produced in the western waters; Russian fleets produced approximately 379,500 tons in third-country exclusive economic zones, a 10.3% increase year-on-year.

By species, pollock production was approximately 1.64 million tons, a 2% increase year-on-year; Pacific herring production was 375,000 tons, a 18.2% increase year-on-year; Pacific cod production was 88,500 tons, a 0.3% increase year-on-year; crab production in the Far East region was 44,000 tons, a 9.2% increase year-on-year.

From January to August, Atlantic cod production in Russia decreased by 31% year-on-year to 133,000 tons; crab production in the Barents Sea was 13,200 tons, a 8.5% increase year-on-year.

As of September 7, wild salmon production was 320,014 tons, including 222,277 tons of pink salmon, 46,242 tons of sockeye salmon, and 42,653 tons of chum salmon. Salmon production in the Kamchatka region was 257,222 tons, and in Khabarovsk it was 29,466 tons.
