Russia remains the world's largest importer of peaches and nectarines

The US Department of Agriculture has published a report on the world trade in stone fruit, with a special focus on fruit grown in Turkey and its import into Russia. Currently, Russia remains the leading international importer of peaches and nectarines, accounting for almost 40% of the world's imports. Analysts expect the peach and nectarine harvest in Turkey to reach one million tons. The area of peach orchards has remained unchanged over the past decade, but due to a more quality-oriented approach to cultivation and the introduction of high-quality varieties, the volume of harvested fruit is starting to increase. Due to the increasing demand for nectarines, some peach orchards are being requalified.
