Russia has imposed a ban on beef and cattle imports from two Brazilian states, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso, due to confirmed cases of mad cow disease. The ban, effective from September 15, includes a moratorium on the export of live cattle, beef with bones, offal, and other products from Minas Gerais. Additionally, the export of boneless beef from cows older than 30 months from these states is also prohibited. The meat must now be accompanied by a veterinary certificate confirming it is from cattle under 30 months old. The decision was made after Russia's agricultural regulator confirmed atypical cases of the disease.
