In 2024, Russia ranked as the third largest exporter of vegetable oils, with an 8% increase in exports compared to 2023, reaching 7.29 million tons. The country's share of the global export market also grew from 7.6% to 8.5%. Sunflower oil was the most exported type, with a 24% increase, primarily to India, followed by soybean oil and rapeseed oil, which saw a 2% and 30% decrease, respectively. China was the main importer of rapeseed oil. Additionally, exports of plant meals and margarine products increased, with Kazakhstan being the main importer of these products.
