Darnov pointed out that the demand for Russian agricultural products in the Chinese market is growing, with not only the volume of imports increasing but also the variety of supplied products expanding.
It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the value of Russian agricultural exports to China will reach approximately $70 billion, and will reach $100 billion by 2030. Darnov believes that export growth will rely on the increase in the supply of traditional commodities and high-value-added products.
According to Darnov, Russia mainly supplies China with vegetable oils (rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil), fish and seafood, grains, and meat products.
Darnov added that the demand for organic and nutrient-rich products, i.e., healthy foods, among the Chinese middle class is continuously increasing, and exporting such products to China could become a significant source of income for Russian manufacturers.
He believes that the production and certification of such products will give Russia the opportunity to enter the high-end market in China.
