Russia produces only 2 - 3% of its hops from the needs of the brewing industry. Germany is considered the main supplier. From friendly countries, China and Belarus supply small volumes of hops. At the same time, according to the Association of Beer Producers (APP), domestic producers cannot satisfy the existing demand both in terms of the quantity of raw materials supplied and in terms of its quality. In Russia (mainly in Chuvashia), only cone hops and partially in pellets are produced, which is not enough for modern production, which requires a large assortment. True, the AMS is now celebrating a new stage in the interest of farmers in growing hops: the experience of Chuvashia played a significant role in this, where in 2022 it was possible to increase the harvest by 20% compared to previously planned indicators.
