Russian Center for the Development of Agri-Exports: For eleven months before 2025, China became Russia's largest importer of buckwheat.

According to data from the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center, from January to November 2025, Russia exported nearly 250,000 tons of buckwheat, with an export value exceeding $64 million, breaking the record of 235,000 tons set in 2024. Reports indicate that from January to November 2025, the export volume of buckwheat increased by 15% year-on-year. The largest importer of Russian buckwheat is China, with a supply volume of approximately 238,000 tons to China. The top three importing countries also include Japan and Poland, with supply volumes of approximately 4,000 tons and 3,000 tons, respectively. According to information from the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center, over the past decade, the export volume of Russian buckwheat has increased by 5.2 times.
