(Hongseong=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Yun-deok = The Chungnam Institute of Health and Environment announced on the 11th that a detailed pesticide residue test conducted on 98 types of frequently consumed agricultural products, including spinach, lettuce, and perilla leaves, which have been circulating in the province since August, confirmed that all were safe. The number of items tested increased by six from last year to 356, and while some agricultural products were found to have trace amounts of residual substances, they were within the legally permissible limits. Director Jeong Geum-hee of the Institute of Health and Environment said, "We will continue to expand the items for pesticide residue testing and strengthen monitoring at the distribution stage, and thoroughly manage to ensure that residents can safely consume agricultural products."
