The Mediterranean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters' Association (AKAMİB) reported a significant increase in the export of carob products to China in June, amounting to 1.7 million dollars, a 1,572 percent increase. The exports of forest secondary products also saw an increase in June, reaching 3.9 million dollars with a 38 percent increase and 31.2 million dollars in the first half of the year, marking a 53.5 percent increase from the previous year. Onur Kılıçer, President of AKAMİB, stressed the economic potential of processing these products and the importance of investing in research and development to increase the value of these products in various industries.
