Seaweed-based biostimulants from the marine algae Ascophyllum nodosum are standing out in the Argentine and Brazilian fields for combining productivity and sustainability. Originating from the cold waters of the North Atlantic, this algae is rich in bioactive compounds that favor plant development, increase resistance to climatic stress, and reduce the need for chemical inputs, which translates into significant yield increases. “Ascophyllum nodosum is a natural technology that improves crop management and enhances cotton productivity,” highlights Samir Filho, market development manager of Acadian in Brazil.
