Rumors about possible restrictions by China on Brazilian beef due to the presence of Fluazuron residues are nothing but market speculation. This information was confirmed by the Secretary of Agro-Defense of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Carlos Goulart. In an exclusive interview with journalist Marcelo Dias from Canal Rural, he said that the substance has not been detected for months. “There is nothing to that effect. We are still in discussion with the Chinese health authorities about detections that occurred earlier this year and last year,” he stated. Regarding recent detections, however, the secretary denies.
