Sector foresees advance in grape production

The Institute of Management, Planning and Development of Viticulture of the State projects an increase of around 50 million kilograms in the harvest compared to the previous cycle. The preliminary estimate of the sector points to 2024/25 having reached about 750 million kilograms, while 2026 could reach approximately 800 million kilograms. There is an expectation of greater production of light, white, and young wines, a trend associated with the behavior of new consumers, according to the assessment provided by the institute. "In terms of planning, I believe the sector will organize itself to produce a greater quantity of wines, especially the lighter, white, and young ones, which are shown to be a trend for new consumers," highlights the president of the Institute of Management, Planning and Development of Viticulture of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Consevitis-RS), Luciano Rebellato.
