The Seocheon West Fisheries Cooperative (Chairman Choi Dong-hwan) recently held a blue crab seed release event near the east breakwater of Hongwon Port in Seomyeon, Seocheon-gun, Chungnam, aimed at recovering blue crab resources and increasing local fishermen's income. The event was attended by approximately 40 participants, including New Seocheon Thermal Power, local fishermen, and cooperative members, who released around 220,000 young blue crabs into the sea. The released crabs were healthy seedlings with a carapace width of over 1cm, carefully introduced into waters considering water depth and current conditions to enhance natural adaptability and survival rates.
