Jeju Seongsan Ilchulbong Agricultural Cooperative (Chairman Park Myeong-jong) visited over 20 kiwi greenhouses in the area for two days from the 25th to the 26th to check on the growth conditions and encourage the farmers, as the harvest of Jeju's new kiwi variety 'Gamhwang' (Hongsim · Okcheon crossbreed, also known as 'Heart Gold Kiwi') is approaching. This field visit was organized to urge farmers to strictly adhere to safety protocols to prevent heat-related illnesses caused by the summer heatwave. Jeju's 'Gamhwang' is a gold kiwi developed by the Rural Development Administration, an early-maturing variety harvested around mid-October, larger than other kiwis with a higher sugar content of 18 Brix, and with firmer flesh.
