The National Forestry and Wildlife Service (Serfor) has distributed S/ 1,066,772 from the Agroperú Fund to small forest plantation producers and chestnut growers in Madre de Dios, as part of a larger S/ 400 million fund available until 2023. This initiative aims to strengthen the productive chain of various crops and plantations, including chestnuts, aguaje, shiringa, ungurahui, and forest plantations, while also supporting gender equality in farming. The funds, with a low annual interest rate of 3.5%, will be used for chestnut harvesting and forest plantation activities, with a significant portion allocated to women producers.
