The National Forestry and Wildlife Service (Serfor) managed the disbursement of S/ 1,066,772 from the Agroperú Fund in credits for small producers of forest plantations at the national level and associations of chestnut growers in Madre de Dios. Until the end of 2023, producers have the possibility of accessing the available funds of more than S/ 400 million to strengthen the productive chain of chestnuts, aguaje, shiringa and ungurahui in Madre de Dios, and forest plantations, at the national level. Of the total amount granted, S/ 647,000 have been allocated to 37 small chestnut producers under the Financing Program for Non-timber Producers in Madre de Dios, of which 45% of the beneficiaries are women chestnut producers. The financial support will be used for activities related to chestnut harvesting (zafra).
